Tire and Rim Size

I have a 1995 GA GT 3.1L V6 with AT. I'm about to replace my worn tires and I'm also interesting in purchasing some rims. They came stock with 16" rims. What size would be like... optimal performance or what not? I know if I change the rim and tire size i'll need to have my speedometer recalibrated. How much does rim size play a role in power and what not?

I'd say 17 inch at most because ive seen 18s and 20s on one of those didnt look too good. Not to mention they would be heavy and on a small car you want a little bit of rubber between you and the road otherwise you will have a rougher ride. And 17s i think would fit the best mine come with 17 inch rims and they look great on the car and aren't that heavy and are cheaper than anything bigger normally.

You could put 18's on your GA, with a low profile tire.

As long as the tire hieght is the same or close to stock hieght the speedo doesnt get thrown off to much.
