Hi,
Started Tamiya 1/12 Honda CB1100R.
modifing this kit using CBR1100XX kit and others.

Going to use CBR1100XX's 17inch wheels and tyres.
http://www.works-y3f.com/m_cars/9_coming/2007/08_CB1100R/01.jpg

Also using CBR1100XX's front fork but stock wheels are front:19inch / rear 18inch,
so I extended forks 5mm.

Hey Kunta, for what kit are these airfunnels made by Studio 27?
Do you have the number of the set?

Thanks:)

How did you do that exhaust staining?

Joel,
I used clear blue, clear yellow, clear orange and clear red.
thinned paints with thinner in a ratio of 1:3 then sprayed them by low air pressure(0.1MPa).

joelwideqvist

I assumed the staining was made out of decal but as it was you building the kit I thought I'd better ask... :-) The staining is out of this world. Couldn't imagine you were able to achieve that glossy metallic heat stain with paint.

I'm not too keen on this style of bike, as the bodywork feels too boxy, but the paint is beautiful.

Please can you explain in more detail how you created the springs for the rear shock absorbers? Did you just prime and paint the metal wire or am I seeing insulation? If you painted them, did you wind them before or after they were painted?

Thanks

Yes, I just primed and painted the wire after winded them.
