I have a 05 trailblazer and my trailblazer makes this whining noise every time I hit the gas. I'm trying to tell if it's the waterpump or fan clutch. My engine light as not come on, my a/c works good, and my heat works. I know this sound should not be there.:banghead:

If it has the electric fan clutch I would get it back to the dealer and have it checked for recalls and TSB's.
Some of them the computer needs reflashed to get the fan clutch to work right.
Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

I was thinking the same thing, I replaced my Fan Clutch this weekend... after replacing it I started up thr TB still making the same noice... TO me it sounds like it is coming from the alternator.... So I think the next thing I will be replacing...

posted this in your thread too chigowolfs....is worth checking out, is easier than alternator, and cheaper
"try the idler pulley....use a long screwdriver on bolt head attaching pulley with engine running(being VERY careful)...you should hear the rattle/grating noise through the handle. kinda common on those. if you buy the pulley and it has a bracket on it, just change the pulley, so much easier. let us know!"
