cupped tires

:banghead: I let my 99 silverado go too long before rotating the tires and now they are worn uneven. there is a pretty good vibration in the front end. I know there is nothing I can do to "fix" the tire, but I am curious if the vibration will damage anything else over time. I am 99.9% sure it is the tires. It didnt start until i rotated them.

If I understand your post, you have rotated the tires, and now evidently have good, square tires on the front, and it has started vibrating as a result. If that's the case, check the camber and toe-in.

Cupped tires go with things like worn shocks, so check them out first. If the cupping is not that bad, the tires may be able to be "shaved" by a shop that specializes in 4X4 wheel alignments. They basically spin the tire and use a tool that evens out the tread.

It is also common to have an out-of-balance (usually a weight has fallen off, unless you're 'drifting' around corners) tire in the back that you can't really feel, but it becomes noticable when moved almost right under your feet.
