No juice to ignition or power windows

Hello, I have a 1999 Jetta VR6 and am having a problem with it. This afternoon my wife was driving it and all of the windows were up, but her windows started to fog up so she tried to power them down but all of the power windows didn't work. She also tried to open the power moon roof and that didn't work either. Because she had pulled off of the side of the road, I told her to turn off the motor when she called me. When she tried to turn the motor back on the car acted like it had absolutely no power. All the lights on the dash turned on, but when she tried to turn to motor on she got nothing...not even a click. It was like the car didn't have a battery in it. We had it towed home and I've checked everything...the blinkers work, the head and tail lights work, the radio works...but the windows don't and it won't even make a click when I try to start it.

If any one can help me with this issue I would appreciate it because I don't know where to look next. Also, would the power windows be connected to the ignition?
