Does anyone know an easy way to tweak a 95 honda civic engine to get more power. or does anyone know a way to advance the v-tech when it kicks in.

theres no way to tweak a stock engine without putting on performance parts. you can mess with the idle and air fuel ratio alittle but nothing really, pretty much just improved throttle response.
they make vtec controllers or msd makes a rpm activator switch

I have a full exhaust system intake headers and full cat-back, Unorthodox racing pullies new plugs and 11mm wires, but it is an auto. and i need to find a chip that will work with me car, or any ways to tweak with the timing. Iheard there was a way to advance the gears without gettin cam gears. If anyone at all knows how I can add more power in a cheap and easy way please let me know.

you can get a chip off ebay real cheap..20 or 25 bucks, i could feel the difference when i got mine. if you wanna adj. timing id get a cam gear thier cheap on ebay as well,and safer then anything else to adj. timing. there are quite a few companys that make vtec controllers but the chips usually lower the cross over point anyway...

are the distributors adjustable on the sohc vtec motors ? if they are, all you need to do is advance or retard the distributor. its just as good as cam gears.

Why is it that,when someone says they have mods on their motor like header(s) crank pullies etc... and somehow they misspell vtec which is written plain as day on the motor,I doubt they even have a car.Advance your timing with the distr. easiest way to "tweak yer timing".

WTF!! adjusting your timing is completely different than adjusting your cam gear!! one moves when the spark fires and the other moves when the valves open!!
BTW, the distributors are adjustable on the SOHC's. Also, don't adjust your cam without fixing your distributor, get a timing light and do it right!

dont listen to that guy, its all the same, cam gear or turning the distributor.
for example, we'll use advancing.
1 you get a cam gear and advance it all the way, so your lengthening the time between teh valves opening and when there spark
2 you advance your distributor all the way, so it sparks later than normal, so you are lengthening the time between the valves opening and when theres spark

I best way to get some power out of the car for cheap is to Pull the A/C and the P/S and then change out the Harmonic Balancer with the Race Pulley from http://www.unorthodoxracing.com thats what I did and I noticed a big diffrence in power. I am also Running a D16z6 from a 95 civic.

you dont need to pull out the ac and ps, just take off the belts that run them

Yea that will get rid of the powerdrain but if your gonna unhook em you may as well save the weight to.
