RSX v 240sx

So I know I have posted a lot but I am in prosses of choosing a daly driver and a show car with some speed and just want to do a little homework.

No I am wondering about a RSX for 8k-10k and 100k-140k miles on it vs. a 95-96 240 sx for 5k-7k stock 90k-130k miles

I know right out of the box that the rsx beats out the 240 in hp by like 50 hp. My only thing is. I could pay off the 240 quicker and save some money to do sr20 swap. wich for almost the same price I could be making more than a 9.5k rsx. But at the same time I like integras all generations. and if you know about TI I like the "family" there is. I know there is a lot of these and I know there is one for the 240. I just know more about integras and rsx than 240's. But I also know that there is a lot of HP to be had with the 240 and I know that show wise they are amazing. I know that a well maintained rsx with 140,000 miles will go for another 100k but I don't know much on nissan engines and how long they run. so 130,000 miles would have to last me till it is paid and i have money for the swap. I know that RWD is said to be "more fun" but I also live in colorado. to the RWD though if it is snowing that bad I don't need to go anywhere any way. I am not big into drifting. just the occasional trip to the strip. comfort is another factor but I already give that to the rsx. So I want a someday down the road moderatly fast, reliable, show capable car. any oppinion would be great.

Well I live in Colorado and there are 240sxs here. The owners do not drive them in the winter (we get a good amount of snow). An RSX won't be that bad. I think it looks a lot better than the 240 and it will respond to the bolt-ons well yet still keep its reliability.

id say the rsx just because.

Those milages are out of this world. I would be incredibly cautious of buying any car with anywhere near 100,000 miles. It doesn't really matter to me if its a Honda or a Nissan engine. Both of these cars are bound to be pushed a bit harder then your average Camry engine. 75,000 miles on an engine that has been raced and driven at higher rpms on a regular basis is just as bad or worse then 150,000 miles on a car that hasn't. You'll probably end up putting tons of money into either car to keep them running.

240's are cheaper but slower stock. However their modifacations are alot cheaper. I always go with old school JDM over new school + it's RWD and less airbags haha. Cheaper to fix as well and SR swappable! :wink: Also I just relaized your looking at the 14 instead of the 13. The 14 is a great car with ENDLESS modifactions, its probably about on par with the FD which means you can do anything you want to it. Its just how much money you have and what your mind is capable of...

The choice is clear.

You don't know single cam 240's then haha! My friends is at 276,000 miles and runs like a charm. The tranny went and it cost him 500$ to fix lol. Thats the only thing I've heard bad about the car.

the RSX is just anouther FWD import car. Nothing specal about it. But the 240sx is a motorsports Icon.

not to mention you can do a sr20det swap for dirt cheap and have a monster

lol my ex bought a 95 integra in 2004 with 183k miles on it...now its at 250+k...very few things other than a cv joint and brakes have needed to be done in the 4 years that she's owned the car...amazing, and this is not an isolated example of the quality many of these japanese engines have attained...the sr20, re22, ka24, etc are all amazing engines that last a long time if treated with any degree of respect for maintenance.

cars are getting better and better and you obviously havent driven many japanese 4 cylinders...which imo are more reliable than pretty much anything out there.
