97 chevy wont start!!!

i own a 97 chevy silverado 1500 5.7L 350. It was stuttering when we accelerated quickly until we switched the fuel pump. Then it drove for about 2 weeks until we drove over a railway crossing and it died. We replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel regulator, spark plugs, distributer, distributer cap, starter, and all the sensors under the hood. we have checked every fuse. Plus we have fuel pressure to the engine but no fuel enters when it turns over. We also have very good spark. It will start when we put fuel into the engine until the fuel is all burnt off. What else can i try? PLEASE. any idea would help.

Hi,
Since it was brought on by a bump,
I would check the plug on top of the fuel tank to see if the pins are burnt.This is a fairly common problem and hitting the bottom of the tank will sometimes get it going again.
There was a replacement plug of a better contact available.

We were to lazy to drop the tank every time so we just have a hole above the fuel pump. What do you mean by hitting the tank. and which connection??

i did as you said....BUT...
Now when i go to start it all it does is click... not turn over. all the interior lights flash on and off repeatedly and the rpms rise to 1000 and the kmph go to 50??? Wierd. I have no clue what is happenin cause i cant see anything wrong. and no fuses are blowing:banghead: :runaround:

Hi,
What I meant was to bop the bottom of the tank. The plug I mentioned is the one on top of the tank for the pump and gauge, they had a problem in the pins not contacting tight enough and would burn. (an updated plug with pigtails has been issued) It's very obvious when looking in at the pins.My local NAPA store has a poster warning to look at this connector with a picture, when replacing the pump as this might be what is the problem.
Now the recent problem sounds like a bad connection of the battery cables.
On my 97, there are two cables on the positive post and you need to really clean both especially in between them. I even had to replace the bolt because it was rounded of and wouldnt tighten good. While at it I bought a special little wrench for it which is 5/16 six sided so it fits tight on the head and doesnt strip it.
When mine clicked like that, I opened the hood and moved the cables some. this made a temporary fix that lasted for two days. Then I fixed it right.

Was the replacement fuel pump made by Airtex?That is one problem and I know about it.Put in 6 of them in one Chevy truck and Airtex would not warranty them calling it installer error.Airtex does not warranty their fuel pumps very well.CarQuest got smart,they ditched Airtex for their fuel pump supplier and changed to Delphi whom makes GM's fuel pumps.It says on the box with Delphi's logal on it.

If the starter is clicking and the engine is not turning over, you need to check both ends of both battery cables. Make sure connections are clean and tight.

It was a bad connection on the battery.
So i Checked the connection but all of the ends are clean with no corrosion or anything. Plus when i go to turn it over it says i have no pressure but i did a test at the engine and my fuel pressure is up to spec.. Is there any sensors that would cause the truck not to run do to that guage saying zero. Plus my pump is AC delco cuase i buy them from the dealership here in lloydminster
