2000 Montana Tranny

I am having hard shifting and long shift with my Montana.
I just had the code 1811 come up on it. Only 2 months ago the fluids and filter were changed and the shifting went back to normal for a week. Does anyone know what the cause of the 1811 code could be?

Welcome to AF. Usually the pressure control solenoid is at fault, fairly expensive job, it is attached to the valve body in the trans side cover.

Personnal Experience. Just had my 2000 Montana Tranny rebuilt by Mr Transmission in Colorado. My Montana has 150k Miles on her but I want to keep her for as long as she will run. Have had regular maintenance and care but it was running rough and was losing power, hard shifting and not shifting on the high end. The end result 1800dollars for a rebuild on the Transmission. The list of warn and degraded parts was extensive. The mechanic that rebuilt her showed me the damaged and worn parts and I was shocked. He was amazed that I was able to drive in to the shop.
1 month later she runs like she did off the lot 7 years ago. The joints (some rattles in the doors) aren't as tight and she is a little dinged and blemished but everything runs like new. I love the FWD, the power and handling in the mountains and snow. Wouldn't trade her for anything else.

Yes. My wife's 2001 Montana had a hard-shifting (1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd) problem 10 months ago, and the dealer's repair document said: " Found code P1811, replaced Pressure Control Solenoid". The cost was $1079 for this job.

Now it's doing the same thing again; and I'm trying to decide what to do myself.
