ok first let me say i have read through most of the osts ot here on this and i have not seen anyone with the same problem i am having. I have no 12v signal to the pcm. If i remove the red connector from the pcm i get my signal back. I have gone through all the grounds on and around the engine thinking i had a bad ground and it was being pulled through my signal. I have replaced the pcm and still have the same problem. The alt is brand new and not a rebuilt. The only thing not working on the truck is the spedo. truck runs good with no codes showing at all except the speed sensor. I am thinking i might have a problem with one of the sensor's but not sure at this time
Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Not that I know anything about cars.
But, you said its a red wire? Perhaps a red wire with white stripes?
Anywho, someone once told me (I think your year) had a voltage regulator that was built off your alternator. And they said it was killing there alts and voltage. They removed a red and white stripped wire and there problem got solved.
Not sure if that helps. But ehh.

Where'd you locate a brand-new alt?? What brand/part number is it; all I can ever find is rebuilt OEM's or rebuilt by Bosch
