My 1988 G20 Van with 305 V8 is leaking from the heater into the passenger side carpet ! Whatta Mess :shakehead ... I got a new heater core ...I got 3 sevice manuals ! A Chevy shop manual , hanes manual and Chilton too All of the manuals I think are POOR on this :frown: ... I got both heater hoses off out front and the whole dash I got loose and propped up over the heater the steering I got loose too... I also got the heater case the 3 outside nuts and the inside screw out ...NOW what do I do ? It won't budge ? :banghead:
I can wiggle the right side of the heater case but the left seems to be stuck ! Do I need to remove MORE stuff ? to get the heater case out ? Anyone done this ? who can advise me ?

I installed a new engine in this thing recently I think installing the engine was easier than replacing the heater core ...

FRUSTRATED ! BOB in MICHIGAN :frown:

Thanks Chris I appreciate the support ... I worked on it another day and could not get it out SO ...I patched it back together so I could drive it and took it to a shop where they could do the job for me ...They worked on it two days and got it done fine ...Charged me 337 dollars and I PROVIDED THE PARTS ...When I picked up the van I was told ..."This thing was a nightmare ! " so I felt better about it ... Thanks Again Chris ! :) BOB

Hello.. Wow Bob $337.. My g20 just started to leak on the passenger side floor.. I don't have much time before it gets too cold.. I will try some barrs stop leak since its a dribble leak but seems to get worse as the miles get put on.. Is barrs leak recommended or should I replace the HC.

Thanks..

Id replace it and only use stop leak in an emergency situation.
