Group Design Competition?

Not sure if anyone is going to be interested in this but here goes anyway.
Anyone interested in a long-ish design project/competition?
By this I mean a proper design school type design project based on a simple brief. The idea is simple; the aim is to engage this little group of ours to take part in an exercise where it isn't just draw a single car but to take a design and to develop it over a couple of months; from concept to road so to speak.
Every time you make a new drawing, or model, or detail, post it here and let others see and review it (i.e crit) so you have some feedback to work on it some more. After a set dead-line, you have to produce "final" drawings of what should be a complete car; exterior and interior.
You don't need to know how a car works but if you do, it isn't going to not help.... In anycase, the brief will make what goes underneath a car matter not so much. At least I'll try to make it as simple as possible
i.e no battery powered motors at each wheel or complex dual engine set-ups.
So anyway.
Anyone up for it?
One word of warning though, you have to have pretty thick skinned for this sort of thing and perhaps more importantly, you have to be able to be honest about yours and everyone else's work. Don't say things to be mean but instead say what you see and say what you think. I mean, if I've been lazy and more or less copied something I saw in an obscure concept model built 35 years ago by Zagato that only 17 people have seen, then say that I've copied it. If something doesn't look right, say so. It is often more important to point out what isn't right than to talk about things that do work. After all, the point of a design process is to work on getting all things right so you need to concerntrate on the bits that aren't.

well, that's also why I thought it'd be interesting to do something like this.
The idea isn't to come up with a fantastic design; it's more to do with having an idea and developing it to its end conclusion which might not make a conventionally pretty car. In the end, when doing a design course, it is the process that is more important. Of course, on the way, we usually fudge it to make it pretty as well but the process is still more important.
In any case, I'll try to make the brief so that a lot of decisions has already been made for you because that is the other problem. Designers like limitations. The more limitations there are, the less we have to think about and the more time we can spend on the things that we do have to think about. It is when you have totally free reign to do something that you start to stall. Even then, you'd still apply some limitations yourself.
So, three (+me) so far maybe.

There's no reason you can't take part.
The first stage would be about research and references anyway so it'll be mostly about loose sketches and playing around. There wouldn't be any "serious" drawing for a while yet.

ok, i've had a little think and this is what I've come up with so far with regards to the brief for this thing.
Car is to be a strict 2 seater coupe
wheelbase to be be 2300mm - 2600mm
track (front +rear) 1400mm - 1600mm
Overall, the car has to be useable in a standard car parking space 2400x4800 (i.e think about how the doors work)
Don't worry too much about these numbers, they're just there to give you an idea of how big a car is and to give you a starting point.
Engine can be in any location (but it has to be an engine)
Drivetrain can be what-ever you want
Now for the interesting part.
Let's imagine that the sponser for this is Samsung and their key theme is reflections, modernity and style.
They want a modern car that also reflects classic car design.
They want a car that is sporting but still useable so it must have a boot.
Overall though, the idea is to go through the process and develop what you have into something that might be a real car. That does mean some things have to be realistic to a degree.
A useful starting point for those who have never done something like this before; put in words the kind of car you want to do. Is it a inspired by classic cars thing? Is it going to be a pure sports car? A cruiser type car? Is it going to be American Muscle style or Italian flair or both? Is it going to be based on organic forms and fluid lines or creases and folds?
In design terms, think about your "language" for your design.
Finally, it's probably best if everyone posts what they do in here.

I'm toying with the idea of having a car brand to work with as well but can't think of a good pair with the Samsung idea that won't take over.
I mean, can you really do a Ferrari or Aston or BMW without the car taking over from the Samsung idea?
Maybe next time we do a car for a brand.
In the mean time, let's crack on with this.
I'm off to google samsung and to lookf for lots of cool photos of their products.

great!
now all you got to do, is turn it into a car......
seriously, have fun with it.
take an idea and streeeetch it as far as it can go.
If you don't smile or laugh when doing this, you're thinking too hard.

there's some nice shapes and surfaces in there but you've sorta skipped a few steps and gone straight for the car design.
I mean, if I ask you how is that a Samsung car, what would your answer be?
That's why I didn't choose a car brand because you'd risk just imitating their existing car designs. By choosing an off-beat brand, you have to look at their products and design details and themes.
Then you should be testing those details and themes and see how you can apply them to a car.
Of course, I know that not many of you would've done something like this in this fashion before. It'll probably make more sense when I get my Page 1 done (probably over the weekend because I am way too busy with building projects).
