Got the Goat all patched up and back on the road. All the suspension components I destroyed got replaced and the car is back to 100% ass kickery.
So how does fate repay me? with a tropical depression the size of Texas, thats how!
Yeah, its been raining for a week striaght here and its just impossible to have fun. (sure I could turn the TC off and go sideways but after the accident I think I'll wait a bit before I start power sliding again.)
So tonight on the way home I see a white BMW 330 hauling ass from light to light. the roads are dreached in water and there are puddles and pools everywhere and this guy Is just launching and spinning and hauling ass with no fear at all. by the 4th light I pull up next to him and see him looking over and smirking. He must be around 30-35 year old Dominican male. I rev to let him know Im game cause lets face it, this is a battle we all know Im gonna win and I dont want him getting surprised when I take off.
I take off and short shift so it wont spin, the guy is dead even with me. I hit second and spin a bit, traction warning comes on and the little advantage I had gain I loose and he is even with me again. I hit third and this time traction warning comes on and starts flashing and beeping "low trac" "low trac" "low trac", all through 3rd I was fighting with the car but I pulled two cars on him. by 4th I had 3 and I hit the brakes cause that was that.
dude pulls up. I give him a thumbs up, he thumbs up me back. all done.
I know It was no big victory and yeah I should not be posting this cause its a boring race but hey, it was crazy how slick that road was, the thrill of keeping them straight was so much more then the race itself.

Details on the BMW? E46? E92? Coupe? Sedan? Wagon? Cabrio?
Those 330i's do pretty well against most of the close competition like the C350, A4 3.2, CTS 3.6, and IS300/350, but 225-255hp =/= 400hp unless its in an Elise or a Caterham.

Would have to have been E46 or E90. Never made a 330 in E92 form.

its not the current 330 but the previous gen. like a 03 or 04 model.
The new tires dont help much in the wet. Yokohama AVS ES-100's are extreme summer tires. great dry traction and strong walls for hard cornering but the wet thread sucks.

one of my favorite things to do was punch it in my dads vette in the rain and practice on keeping it straight and moving with the traction controll off!

I used to love it when it rained when I had the Z28... TC was hardly ever on. Good times.
You don't know the meaning of countersteer till you've driven a LSx vehicle in the rain.

Ah yes, right you are. Damn BMW for separating the E90 and E92 and doing away with the is/Ci designation. It made things so much easier.

^^ Hell no! I need traction control.
I only got 245mm width tires and thats the max I will go cause anything over you have to cut or roll the fender and then that shit starts to rust.
The Vette can handle 265 width with no problem and the Camaro has a longer track length from front to rear wich helps keep it straight.
Ask Gotian, when I had my old tires I went for a drive with him with the T/C off and I was spinning them loose on corners without even trying. The new tires help alot but the T/C only comes off when its safe.

Yeah I got to drive my friends 02 Z06 yesterday, even with tc on, you go around a corner and give it gas, that car is sideways. He was putting down around 370whp before the exhaust, it was a blast. I envy you Mush, being able to do that daily.

Seemed like a good race. Traction control is always welcome in such conditions. The better it works is stand between victory and defeat. Bmw makes it perform very well btw. Here is an example of me pullin in first and second on an integra type R in the rain at a red light. Tx to traction control i beat a 40 more hp car until i hit 120km/h, then he reels up and passes me. We went to 140 http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=FDDWATielSc

i have fun with my Porsche 944. i have no traction control. trying to keep that car strait in rain is difficult, but once ur good at it there's no looking back. it's not a vette or gto by ne rate when it comes to power. but the tires in the rear are bald. awd is fun on dry pavement and in the rain. rwd is scary at times in the rain but damn worth it in dry pavement. fwd eh it's fun in the snow...granted so is rwd with a rear engine(u know like an old bettle u take to the local walmart parking lot with 3" of snow on it and just start doing donuts)
