hi, i was wondering, on a 1990 IROC-Z 350 TPI, if you could change the TPI to carburation??...like just take off the intake manifold and put a carbed one then put a carb on it , or there's way more complications then just changing the intake manifold? , and if so how could i change to carburation? - thanks

No, pretty much it's just ripping the intake and replacing it. You also need a different fuel pump and a regulator to bring the fuel psi down. All your lights on your dash will light up, because your computer will be useless as soon as you go carb'd....and I doubt you'll ever pass inspection (I didn't) lol. Good luck though, and make sure you tune her right.

ok so theres not that much work just a new intake manifold, and pump and regulator, its not a very complex job, thanks

I don't know much about your car particularly, but I think you might check to see if your ignition system is electronically controlled... if it is, the ECU probably uses input from fuel system and throttle position to figure out what spark it needs... so you wouldn't get any advance, and your ECU would go into limp mode, if it has it... might wanna check on that... if nothing else, just move to a vacuum advance dizzy too... THEN you can delete the ECU altogether.

why wouldnt he just drop in a HEI (High Energy Ignition) from a 70's-80's SBC?

that would work too, like I said, I'm not all that familiar w/ those cars, I'm primarily an import tuner, w/ a light background in muscle cars.
