are all blazers s-10s and why are they called s-10's? because they are nothing like the s-10 truck engine wise if I am correct (let hope).

The "s-10" came off in '94 and the little small blazer became known as the "s-blazer". I don't remember what the "s" standed for, I forget now. As for the S-10 being different that the S-10 blazer, the powertrain was identical all through the years. The main difference was in 94, when the newer model 2nd gen for the S-10 were introduced, and the 1st gen older style blazer was in production until the '95model year, 2nd gen blazer/jimmy's were introduced. The Powertrain was alomst always identical all through the years.
To clairfy;
When I say identical powertrain wise, I do have to clarify. As Blazee mentioned the engine choices, with the exception of the early 80's the blazer/jimmy never got a 4 cylinder engine. Other than that, the V'6's were almost always avaliable the same time, along with the trannies and rear ends.

In 1995 the S-10 badge was dropped from the S-10 Blazer because it was no longer needed due to the full size Blazer being renamed to the Tahoe. The new Blazer's ties to the S-10 pick-up were still intact, though, meaning that they were still built on the S-series platform.
The name S-10 itself has been generically applied to all of them, but wrongfully so. The "S" in S-10, denotes the drivetrain as being 2wd. The proper designation for the 4wd, is T-10, the "T" being the indicator that it is 4wd.
As far as engines go, the powertrains were mostly identical, with the exception that the pick-ups had more options, such as being able to choose a 4 cylinder, nonvortec TBI V6, or vortec V6 engine in years where only V6 vortecs were available for the Blazers.
