Well, they're not here YET, but I ordered these 2 from HLJ.com about 2 days ago. I tracked them on UPS and they are already in town! I heard that HLJ takes some time to ship, but only 2 days later they're here? :)

Anyone do these yet? How are they? Im up for a chellenge :)

P-Man has built both, perhaps you could look in his gallery to see them, he also did a really good build up on the second one.
Nice choice of kits, they are on my to-do list too.

Yes they are the 2 Opel Astras. Believe it or not, I live in FL! The only reason I didnt get them today is because I wasnt home to sign for the package.

The way HLJ ships to the US is by shipping out about 2-300 pounds of packages at one time in order to get the 1280 Yen/kg rate from UPS they charge. So, depending on how close they are to accumulating the necessary weight of packages, your package can take 2-9 days to arrive. If you're lucky, and your package is packed on a delivery day, then you'll receive your package in 2-3 days, but if you're unlucky, your packed package can sit in their warehouses for up to a week.

dead link of the pics you attached.

about the timing, I think UPS is alright, very quick. But SAL is pretty unsafe. I just got my stuff today, I used SAL method, and the damn thing is I need to call my post office and told them that there was something shipping to my address from japan, and need them to take extra care since it is not registered. I am not going to jeopodize again next time, no more SAL......UPS only

Cant see the pic's...but if it is the two Opel DTM's you have picked two really neat kits to build.
Both are the same molding just different colours, but look awesome when together.
Yellow one (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27599&highlight=finished+pics)
Orange one (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?threadid=61289&goto=newpost)

It's a little confusing, but there are two types of what they sometimes call SAL. One is SAL Small Packet, and the other is SAL parcel.
The former is unregistered, no label, hand written addresses, cheaper rates, and weight and size are significantly limited. This is good for those budget conscious people, who accept the risk of damage or loss. Buying something like one or two wheel sets, Small Packet might be a better choice.
Most of the SAL (the 2nd type) is safe, since it's got the registration number on the formatted label, but if the package weights less than 2 kg (depends on the destination), EMS should have a cheaper rate. Also, it's faster, and even online tracking is available in many countries.
From HLJ, I think UPS is the best option.
