Finally finished my Knight Rider 300ZX (LOTS OF PICS)

I've been working on this one since July. It's not really styled after Knight Rider, it just came out looking that way. Most of you probably don't remember, but I posted the finished interior and body a few months ago.

If you're wondering why the front looks different, it's because I flipped the bumber upside down. It was the easiest thing to do, since I'm not skilled enough yet to make my own aero kits. I also, changed the front fascia by adding a piece of plastic on top of it. The interior was painted flat black and plastikote sky blue (I think), and I painted over it with dull-coat, to get the resemblane of the leather seat covers on www.ztoyz.net. The Z emblem was made from Testors chrome foil.

Whew, glad to have this model finished. I got the 350Z model Saturday, so I guess my next project will be to build a replica of my car. Anyone know of some wheels that look like the Rays Engineering ones on the track 350Z?

Oh yeah, the Fujimi kit doesn't have an engine, and I really wanted to show off the VG30DETT, so I had to cut the hood off, and put in one from a diecast 300ZX model. I won't miss it, that model really sucked.

Is the exhaust upside down? What chrome paint did you use on the engine?

Thanks for the compliments on the model, everyone. It probably wouldn't have taken so long if I didn't have to wait for the wheels to come in. Plus, school has taken away a lot of my modeling time.

I cut the exhaust pipes off a broken Lamboghini Diablo model. I think I they may be upside down, because I remember having to turn them a certain angle so that they wouldn't point down. For the chrome on the engine, I used testors 1290 Chrome spray enamel. For the blue valve cover, I placed a piece of Testors chrome foil on it, and painted over it with Testors transparent blue.

Thats tite, I love 300zx's Im most likely getting opne when turn 16 ( i know a guy that has a 96 that is selling it in a couple years) the only bad thing is it oisnt a twin turbo but if it was the insureance would be really high for me. That extrior color looks different like its got silver in it doese it?

Yeah, that's one of my other hobbies. I'm not the only one either, just check out niketalk.com or my site, jumpmankicks.com.

Yeah, I love the 300ZX. That's what I wanted, but they're impossible to find in my area at a reasonable price. I saw a guy in a black twin turbo flying down the road tonight. I'm pretty sure it's the same guy that burned out on me at the stop sign last summer when I was in my mom's 280ZX. I would have loved to have gotten revenge on him tonight, but I wasn't in my car, and he'd probably smoke me since I can't shift all that good yet. I probably would've gotten a ticket, too.

Yeah, the paint does have silver speckles in it. It's Testors black metallic pearl. I love the paint, but it bubbles up so easily. I had to repaint the body three times, because it kept messing up. It was so frustrating, I almost gave up on the model. You can't see it, but the paint still has some holes in it. I love the paint, but next time I paint a model black, I'll use Tamiya paint, or something else.

Yeah, I try to use the Lego road everytime I take pics of a model. I more pieces, and maybe one day, I'll use them to make a drifting scene when I finish my Initial D RX-7 FC3S. Thanks for the compliments on the car.

Great job ! Though the paint looks a little thick, maybe it's the picture but the panel lines don't look deep enough. Any ways great job.
