The kit is the recent Aoshima release which comes kerbside - http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS03977
so I plan to use the SR20DET engine from the earlier "stock" release in due course.
http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS03873
Colour is Ford Radiant Red topped off with Zero pre-thinned clear and rims are Fujimi BBS LM's.

Andy you should throw a slightly larger lip on those BBS LM's...

I agree, if you could get a larger lip on those, it would really set it off! Looks amazing though! as usual :).

I agree, with the kinda of body kit that's on there the wheels are pretty much begging for some lip. Other than that it looks like it's up to your usual standars...... In otherwords FREAKING NIIICE!!!!

I need to see the headlights in better detail, and you need to better detail your headlights....with a black sharpie around the edge of the lenses.
I wish I could help you out on the SR thing, but...what ever, I don't think I'll ever finish it.

Wow, it doesn't even look like the hood has been opened (cut). Excellent wheel choice. I'm gonna keep an eye on this one. Paint looks perfect also andy.

Very nice work as usual, Andy! Despite the some of the comments, I know this is still a WIP so there are things that you've not gotten around to yet. Keep on doing what you do and I know it will be another stunner. After seeing these pictures, I'm seriously tempted to buy this kit! :sunglasse

Thanks for the feed back guys.
As regards the rims and adding a lip - I hadn't built the suspension when I took the picture (which is something that I should have mentioned in the original post) so the wheels were just resting on the inner wheelarches - since then I've built the suspension up and it's pushed the rims further outwards to fill the arches, in fact I had to reduce the mounting point on the rears or else they stuck out past the wheelarch. I'll take some pics over the weekend.
Agreed that the headlights need the black seal adding - there's no engraving on the lenses so I did try painting brush painting the edges with matt black enamel but wasn't too happy with the results - I'll see if I can pick up a marker pen and have another try.
Cheers

despite all the comments, it's still refreshing to see your builds START to finish, because when they are completed they always look amazing.

Yeh, a black sharpie or a gundam marker work well. Straight lines come out perfect.

Just a couple of pics as promised with the suspension built up -I've also tried to add the seals to the headlights (still need to do the grille).

now THAT'S what I'm talking about! that looks GOOD, but you still need some big fat lips in a staggered width.

This is looking great! I do still think the wheels need some lip though. That's just my suggestion though, don't take it as a negative comment. Aside from the wheels I think it's looking amazing, just like all your builds!!

headlights look 100x better, the front wheel looks perfect, the rear wheel is still bugging me because in the first picture, it looks like there is no tire on the backside of the rim. it may just be the perspective though.
awesome progress.

Just a couple of pics of the interior - pretty much oob except for SAS recaro drivers seat, steering wheel from my spares box & Mr Model p/e pedals. The main colour is a mix of matt black & white primer witht he inserts & seat in Humbrol matt enamel no.60. Just needs a bit of tidying up in places.

Ok, first things first, I have to bash your build, or rather your lack of attention to one small detail. Pull out the stock seat, and fill the back in, and get rid of the ejector pin mark in the headrest, and the sink marks in the side boulsters. With that superbly done driver's seat, the passenger seat looks like poo.
I think I'm going to build some correct side panels and seats for some silvias, and possibly pop them in resin, once I get to that point on my wide body build.
sorry to pirate your thread, so back on subject. You are doing a great job.
