Help me!!! Needed a boost now keyless remote not working

I hope someone may be able to tell me what I need to do to remedy this problem. Yesterday I accidentally left my headlights on (while I was at work) for 7 hours. When I went to the car, the keyless entry remote could not unlock my door. I opened the car manually with my key and then tried to start my car. The car wouldn't start, so I got a boost. Since then I've restarted the car about 6 times with no problems.....BUT my keyless entry still doesn't work? I've also noticed that when my door is opened the interior light doesn't come on. Does a low battery charge prevent the remote from working???

do you have an aftermarket remote starter on your vehicle? if not... did you buy the vehicle new?
