I just bought a 2006 eclipse and now i want to get it ready to race. But there are not parts for this vehicle. So on a good note I want to replace the whole engine and get a new transmission. The problem that I am havin is that when i try to find an engine that fits in my vehicle I do this:banghead: . I have heard that there is a company that makes 800+ hp with aftermarket turbo cold air intake ect. that would fit but i cant find the company or the website for the comapny if someone help me out and find this commpany i would greatly apprecated it thanks

IDK try google.
While your at it. RRE.
BTW how old are you?
What do you do for $$$$.
And BTW to make 800+hp on your car, youlld be dropping over 10k easy.

Just because your in the army doesn't necessarily mean you can afford it. I have well over 10k into my recent build and it will only be around 450hp... 800hp is quite the high goal IMO... Also, why does everybody think they have to swap out an engine to make more power? You can easily rebuild that motor with forged internals, turbocharge it and be making a good bit of power. 800hp is gonna be way overkill dude... Just build it up to around 500ish hp and you will be able to take just about any car out there...

thank you for your recent reply. I have acutally looked into just modifying my exisiting engine but as I said the vehicle that I have is to new and there really isnt anything out there for this engine. Hence why I am looking to swap engines out. The only reason I want 800 hp as my base line so that I will be unstoppable. Again thanks for the replys keep them comin plz. I need the input of others to help. But If someone could give some websites that I can look at that I havent seen yet to find part to build up my engine to 500 ish that would be great.

Well how about this... Which motor is even in yours? All you told us was that it was a 2006 Eclipse, but there are different motors in different trims of it... If we knew that then perhaps we could point you in a better direction of where to find parts for building it up.

and how about you understand that the car is FWD. Do you know how much work you will have to put into the entire car, not just the motor to make it handle that much power. It isnt just the motor you will have problems finding parts for. And if you are unable to figure these things out for yourself then I doubt you should be wanting 800hp in a 4G eclipse because you are way far beyond over your head. I would suggest the baby steps program like the rest of the normal world and do minor upgrades in increments to allow you to learn more about your car. This will also allow time for new products to come out for the 4g, and then you will be able to figure something out. but still man...800hp. From a dig, I could probably beat you in my 3G V6 because you will never be able to get any of that to the ground...

Thank you crow for ur recent reply. I apologize that I didnt put my engine type on here. I have a 2006 Eclipse GS. Its the v4. The reason I got the smaller engine was cause gas prices were crazy. But since then I have gotten another car so I wanted to work on this one and make its a race/show car.

Well I tell ya what, there sure isn't much available for that motor as its supposed to be a fuel economy motor... I think you would have been much better suited for a 1g or 2g DSM because there are so many parts available for them and not to mention they are AWD...

Tearstone is the aftermarket spot for 3G Eclipses. You could try RIPPS Mods too. They are mostly superchargers. As for putting 800HP to that motor.....thats a llittle crazy. Like what was stated earlier, you need to do more work than the motor. Try going to www.nippon-motors.com (http://www.nippon-motors.com) . You can find motors & transmissions straight from Japan cheap. Less than 30k miles.

To bad its an American engine.

You can buy a Mitsu engine for that from them. I looked into it when I had my 01 GT.

Even though it is a "mitsubishi" engine, I am pretty sure it's an american motor. Our car and the Sebring/Stratus are almost identical. The chasis, motor, everything are the same...even the engine numbers (6g72, or 4g64). The only reason I doubt it is a jap motor is because I highly doubt that the American counterpart would use the jap parts because afterall, we are american and can do everything better than everyone else...lol (NOT)

they are all mitsubishi designed and variations off of the same block and mivec components they've had for years. they are very similar to motors that chryslers, dodges, hyundais and Kias have and if that doesn't make you feel good enough, maybe you should have just bought the v6 eclipse in the first place.

Also if you aren't planning to put slicks and a wheelie bar on it 800 whp isn't doing anything for you that 500whp couldn't do. it won't be unstoppable if it can't get off the line due to excessive wheel spin and it won't be very driveable since it'll end up with a choppy idle. What you need to be looking at is what kind of times you want to run and how to achieve them instead of making a dyno queen.

what i would recommend is taking your time and researching instead of wasting money on a "motor swap" now, you could put the money away, earn interest on it, and when a viable option comes available, then you have more money to make it happen.

But realistically, if you were looking to motor swap a vehicle in the first place, why even bother with mitsubishi?? From what i hear, the 4th gen eclipses are all drive-by-wire which would make a motor swap almost impossible to accomplish since most of the engines worth swapping are all lever and cable driven. I would imagine the easiest thing to do with the 4cyl onces, like in the 3rd gen is to turbocharge them. though, you ARE working with a mivec computer now, so it is going to be much more difficult. You know what though, i hear honda has GREAT fwd swappable vehicles if you are looking for an overpowerd front drive economy car.

I have a 2006 Eclipse GS. Its the v4.

-First off there is no such thing as a V4. Its an inline 4 and because you didn't know that and that you think you can get 800 horsepower out of your car, then you obviously know nothing about cars.
-Second, if you want a fast car, then you bought the wrong ride. You might as well sell it and get something else.
-Don't even think about doing a motor swap either. Because you obviously have no idea how involved that is.
-But if you insist on upping the performance of the car then your best bet is to buy a bolt on supercharger kit, if they make one for your car.

Hell if you have to ask someone how to make that kind of power on any car, you need to stop watching F&F and get your head outta the clouds.
