my xj is clearly running rich i am getting no mpg what could this be i changed the plugs and wiers but am still getting black carbon soot bursting out my tailpipe it also pulled and cleaned the iddle controle valve. any ideas?

I would start by checking the ground and the battery voltage first. Then the engine ground strap.

Then...maybe coolant temp sensor....and other injection areas.
