stalling problems

My wife reports that her Commander stalled twice today. 2006 limited 4wd with 28K miles. going about 30 mph and braking/going down hill and it died on her without warning/noise.

Apparently, there are 76 complaints in with the nhtsa about this and it may lead to a recall. does anyone have any idea what causes this problem?

this is a major safety issue for any commander owners with children especially.

I was reading about this today bc i considering getting a commander. If you bump the key while its in the ignition, the car will shut off. Would you reccommend buying a commander?

very happy with the commander here. would definitely recommend it, but this stalling problem must be fixed, because there are several scenarios which could be very dangerous with this stall. that is why i am looking for someone that might have heard what the cause was

Go to http://www.alldata.com/ Buy a years subscription for your vehicle.
Cost $25.00 well worth it if you have a problem. They normally list all recalls.
Call the dealer and ask about recalls they should tell you even let you read them if asked. This is an unsafe condition and could be as simple as a loose ground wire or bad ignition switch.
