I am working on a 1997 Chrysler Sebring Convertible 2.5L, The customer just bought the vehicle and the speedometer acts wierd. It starts out fine but when you get around 20 mph it jumps around. I replaced the OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR and still same problem, any suggestions.

Check the needle. See if its on good enough for it not to move around on its own.

The needle on my moms gas gauge likes to move around alot.

I will check for codes today, not displaying a Check engine light tho. I could hook it up to the scanner at work and see if I can pull anything.

Well I tried the SELF TEST and everything checked out, went through all the tests but didn't show any codes, so I guess everything was fine.

Replaced the Output Speed Sensor again and now it works fine. the speedo is off a little by about 4 mph, I hooked our SNAP-ON SCANNER to it and drove it and the speedometer showed I was going 4 mph faster then the scanner. But thats acceptable.

Hey all. My daughter recently purchased a '99 Sebring JXI convertable, but the gas mileage is terrible; Roughly around 12 miles to the gallon. It has a 2.5 Liter engine with overdrive transmission and 90% of the miles she drives it are highway miles. It has 91,000 on the odometer and seems to run good. So can anyone help Me out on what may be the cause of the poor gas mileage? Thanks.
