We had have 3 fuel pumps replaced in the last 2 years on this vehicle. The first one failed and the vehicle would not start no matter what. The second was replaced under warranty because the fuel gauge was not accurate after the first pump. A year later the car intermittenly will not start when it is parked. By the time the auto tech can get to it, he cannot duplicate the problem. So we drive it a couple of days, starts in the morning, then is parked for a few hours and will not start. The techs replaced the spark sensor on a quess, few days later it would not start after being parked. One the car starts, it never stalls or cuts out on it's own. It may have been coincidence, but thew last time it would not start, I reached under the car and wiggled the wires to the fuel pump. It, started. The techs installed new fuel pump harness (no charge) to see if it was a bad wire. After 3 pump installs, the harness connectors\ crimps etc may have loosened. The issue we have - the problem can never be duplicated at the garage. Has anyone ever had this problem?

Did you ever fix this? My 1998 Venture is doing the same thing...

Installing new wiring harness from fuel pump to frame may have fixed the problem, has been starting for a week now.

Most likely it is the crankshaft position sensor - all too common on GM V6 engines - the no starting when the engine is hot is the classic symptom.
Its most likely the 24X sensor which is located behind the crankshaft pulley.
For the record: the other one is the 7X sensor and its located on the rear (firewall side) of the engine.

Sorry for late response, the issue was the harness. Never had the problem again.
