88 Silverado

Hi everyone, i just bought a 1988 Chevy Silverado 2500 4x4 350 with the 4 spd with the creeper gear. Sometimes when i shove the clutch in to coast to a stop and get on the breaks it will quit on me, and i start it back up again and after that it might not do it for a few days or even a week, what could be the problem here? any help would be appreciated. thanks!:)
