help with 95 accord ex 4cyl vtech

I have about 290000 on this car. the Speedo started acting erratic the last 2 weeks then stopped working completely. The d4 light started flashing but the CEL never came on until now. I shorted out the blue connecter and the CEL light gave a code of 17. The d4 flashed 4 times quickly. I found out the code 17 is the vss sensor so I have ordered one of those but wasn’t for sure if code 4 that d4 is giving was a different issue. is there a separate set of trouble codes for the d4 light? Any help on this would be appreciated.

yes there is a seperate code for the d4 light
i am having the same exact problem you are having everything down to the speedo acting eratic
but the d4 light blinking is the tcm telling you something is wrong until u fix speedo it will continue to blink
and i tried replacing vss and same thing nothing happened i replaced it twice but maybe third time is a charm
let me know if you fix it i have a 93 honda same thing different body
