Does anybody know how to reset the engine light on a 2001 Cherokee Sport?(Besides going to the dealer!).

just unplu the battery.... then plug it up again... you wil have to set the time again though.

all obd2 systems on cars have currnet codes and past codes, if the problem has been fixed the code should go away after 50 start ups, if the problem hasn't been fixed, then try fixing the problem and maybe the light will turn off :smokin:

Not True.
All vehicles made after 1996 are equipped with OBD-II compatible computer systems. These systems have a memory that will store codes regardless of if the power supply is interrupted. You Cannot simply clear the codes without the use of an OBD-II compliant scanner. But the question is Why would you want to? The code is there for a reason - something is wrong. It can't be good for the Jeep to choose to ignore the problem. :D
