When did Chevy first go from TBI to SFI/CFI/PFI in trucks?
And which models had CFI and which had 8 seperate injectors?
When were the 4.3/5.0/5.7L engines replaced with the 4.8/5.3/6.0L?

On full size p/u's the last year of tbi was '95. '99 was the last year of the 4.3, 5.0, 5.7 in the half ton p/u's, they still used these engines on 3/4 and 1 tons until '01.

I'm not sure when the last year for TBI was, but my 98 Silverado has the TBI on a 5.7L

Yeah, the intro of OBDII killed off the TBI engines. In 96 everybody needed one injector per cylinder so they could shut off fuel if it was missfiring. Your 98 may have a throttle body but it is not TBI. If it is a vortec then it is CSFI(central sequential fuel injection) It has eight injectors in a centrally located box under the intake plenum and each sends fuel down a tube to a poppet nozzle in that cylinders intake runner. With the intro of the third gen small blocks(4.8, 5.3, 6.0) They got rid of that system and just went with injectors that can actually be seen from the outside.

Just found that out Abaird, had to replace the intake manifold gaskets and seen the injector setup.
