94 Cutlass Supreme 3.1 V6 EGR problem

I'm at the end of solving my cars problems. The Service Engine Soon Light has come on for long time. Probably 2 months ago I finally got Advance Auto Parts to scan it. Came up with saying EGR solenoid, and I checkd the trouble codes online and it said EGR solenoid 1 and 2 were in error.

Now I've done the following, Cleaned the non electrical part of the EGR valve, and cleaned the pipe that runs from the bottom of the EGR valve to the exhuast manifold. I'm defenite that it's clean. Recently I got a used EGR valve which was in working order.

I was wondering would a old EGR valve gasket make the Check Engine light still come on? Maybe some sort of air leak? By the way, the light comes on at certain spots when I drive, I just know when it will come on, I will traveling at 45-55 mph then press the break and then it comes on. So would the gasket be causing it to error?

Another two things I'm not sure, could the canister purge solenoid have anything to do with it? Also would taking it to a shop and have them scan it apposed to Advance Auto do any justice? ($75 is alot to me, but so is my car.) Oh and sense the O2 Sensor is in that same area of wires, would it be the one at fault? AND is the EGR valve spose to get REALLY hot? Like so it stays really hot even after you turn the car off?

Sorry for the long post, I would just love to see that SES Light gone. Btw the car runs fine, no stalling or anything, maybe a tad bit of mileage loss on my gas, but nothing severe.

First what is the exact code, second make sure you have no vacuum leaks, third a full scan can command the egr on and confirm it's operation. Also how do you know the used one works?

The codes were 75 and 76. I've checkd all hoses they look good, no signs of any cracks or anything.

The Full scan i've not done at a repair shop, trying to avoid paying the $75 for a scan.

And I pulled the EGR off a car and it was working on it with SES Off. Looks good too. But I suppose that doesn't mean it wouldn't go bad at any time.

*edit*

I just found this other site with codes it also says EGR, but also says something about MAP sensor showing high maifold vacuum. Here is the site http://www.troublecodes.net/GM/94-95_31M.shtml So could the map sensor just be defective?

Again a full scan will answer all the questions or you will replacing parts unecessarily.
