i went riding with a friend and we were speeding. got pulled over by a cop and got 8 tickets. 4 for speeding, 2 for not signaling while changing lanes, and 2 for dangerous lane change. the speeding tickets were for 120mph and 110 mph. i was not the one speeding but i was the one that got cought. i was speeding but not at those speeds. the officer wrote tickets for 2 different courts. 4 tickets for each court.

both courts are in nassau county which allows you to plea bargain.

i went to one court already and they gave me 6 points and suspended my license.

can the other court punish me for the same tickets that i already went to one court for?

i got these tickets about 1 year ago and my apperance in the next court is coming up.

i also just got another ticket for 89 in a 55 where i was speeding. i never speed in my car but when i get on my bike, i tend to go faster. im selling my bike this month. i hate riding. =*(

any help in this matter would be appreciated

thank you

Welll...

I'm a bit confused about multiple tickets for what seems to be one offense. You can't be tried more than once for any offense. Did the judge in the first trial, or the officer, say why you got multiple tickets? You didn't give much detail about the circumstances around the tickets and how you got them. Did you cross a state line or something?

i did not cross the state line. same tickets for 2 courts in the same county. different towns. the officer did not say anything and the judge from the first court was not aware of this. he only handled the tickets that were written in his court. well, ill keep you updated on what happens. my next court date is at the end of november.
