I own a 1992 Ford ranger XLT 4 litre automatic. The 4wheel drive engager does not work, i have taken apart the motor and checked it and bench tested it and it worked, i got it to work once on the transfer case but it got stuck in 4wheel drive. Any ideas, i heard either the module or that motor?Any ideas would be great thank you very much in advance?

Check the fuse in the fuse panel first if ok then go to the switch on the dash to see if you age getting power through it to the motor

The motor was out of alignment so the module didn't know what position it was in, disallowing it to change. I went to the junkyard and got a motor off an appropriate doner ranger and put it on and it work perfect now.
