Horn question

We have a '95 Roadmaster and the horn sounds like an old 70s Toyota. Do these horns normally sound so whimpy or could there be something wrong or loose with mine?
Thanks!

Likely something wrong. My '93 gives old grannies heart attacks, and young kids running home to change their drawers. Compared to my '01 Impreza, it seems like it's at least 5 times as loud.

In fact, I'm thinking of putting the horn set from my '92 parts car in my Impreza. I have an after market horn in it, but it sounds too European, and doesn't panic people badly enough.

Of course, what you *really* need is this: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?cmd=print&id=2112284

In all seriousness, there are dB limits on horns. I seem to recall that it was 130 dB when I was looking for a train horn, but it might be lower.

LOL, that horn would sure get everyones attention!
Thanks for the response, I am just going to have to dig around under the hood and see what the problem might be. I assumed that the hrns should be louder as all of my other Buicks, LeSabre and Park Avenues, have had quite loud horns.

Thanks again!
