My fiance's mother has a 2004 explorer, well all that she has left to pay off is 2300 dollars and she said that if we pay it off we can have it... the truck has 90,000 miles on it but is mostly freeway seeing as how she is a traveling realtor...i have heard of the transmission problems, the brake problems and so forth...the truck has had the universal joint replaced at about 71,00 miles...also the rear hatch has cracked like i have read in numerous threads...so what i am asking is if its worth it...i personally think that its the deal of a life time, but my fiance has her doubts....thanks for any help...

Sounds like a good bargain to me too. The high miles shouldn't be too concerning if the vehicle has been maintained reasonably well. Even if something extreme were to go wrong in the near term, you'd probably be able to sell it as-is and still make some money on it.
Heck, if you two don't want to buy it, let me know. ;)

I'd take that deal in a heartbeat. A 3 year old Explorer even with high miles is worth in the neighborhood of 8 thousand dollars. Go for it.
