The 2 problems might be related...

Have you checked if the oil is leaking through the valve seals? It could have fouled the spark plugs which is causing the hesitation...

If not, the hesitation might be worn out plug wires or cracked coils.

I don't know if the non turbo ecu has the same problem (I think it does) but you might look into leakin caps on your ecu.. thats what is sounds like to me.. however you might as well change the plugs and wires anyways just to rule them out..

Jason

p.s. I can hook you up on factory parts as well as give you some killer deals on after market parts like NGK plugs and wires in this case..pm me if you interested

every time I change my spark plugs there is oil on them. the plugs are only a month old, same with the wires. the coils are only about 3 or 4 months old.
just last night my battery died. i diconnected the battery then reconnected it and gave it a jump after words the hesitation doesnt seem to be as bad. im new to a v6 eng. but i feel that I should have more power than it is giving. it seems that i have the same power or less with a 4 banger eng.

I did the same thing taking off the air resinator on my 97 sl and I dont even have a performance intake on it yet (damn ebay. The only thing that will happen is you will notice a slight increase in sound quality and volume when you get into higher RPMs. At least thats what happened for me.

Ugh... How much time/money do you want to spend on fixing it?

If it were me... I would personally look into replacing the valve seals in the intake to stop the oil leaking onto the plugs... I am not sure if that is the exact problem but unless you start fixing the obvious stuff you won't be tell if it's something less obvious (IE: you will just end up throwing parts at it).

A clogged fuel filter causes hesitation, so put in a new one.
