2007 Chevy Cobalt LS stereo System

I recently purchased a 2007 Chevy Cobalt. I haven't been able to make it over the the services section of the department i was wondering if there is any way ANYway that i could connect my two 12's powered by an amp to the stereo or does it not have any of the connections like the audio left and right or the I/O switch for the amp. any help would be great since i just bough this car i would like not to take the stereo out until i have atleast paid it off. Im pretty sure that the services section would not be too happy with me asking if i can make my car go thump anyways haha.

If noise is your thing. :banghead: One way to not mess with the head unit is; Tie into the rear deck speaker wires from in the trunk. For power, the battery is in the spare tire well.

i have it currently tied into the back speakers:grinyes: my subs barely get power and it is going to blow my rears speaks. The only problem is i need one a left and right audio to plug my amp to my subs and 2 a place to plug my I/O wire in so that when i turn the stereo or the car off it turns the amp off so i dont drain my battery. is it easy to remove the head (any special tools i need??) one and two will it mess with anything if i do ie the info like mpg trip a and b miles till empty coolant temp mile and the outside temp in the rpm meter and if i have to plug the stereo back in like if i trade in is there any complications i might run into.

The only way that you are going to get those speakers into your car is either the tie in (which will blow the speakers, like you said) or with the head unit.
Trouble is, you need one of their techs to wire it all up, because your head is also tied up with critical electronic components.
Believe me, hooked up an amp and the car went into limp mode on me…:disappoin

i found a solution to all our problems haha go to best buy and buy a audio converter it runs approx. $25. if your ok with cutting your speaker wire tie this in and then you have a left right audio jack then obviously you dont have a remote on these stereo's. i connected up the remote to the amp and then ran the remote wire up to the front by my stick shift. then cut it and run it all the way back to the amp and connected it to the power line obviously you dont want your amp having powering going thru it yet next i ran to radio shack and bought a switch i got one that lights up so i know it is on. then i connected them you dont need the ground although some people like to have it its up to you really. after that connect your amp to the battery or if your like me from the distributor since i have a power cap. and then start the car turn the radio to a bangin song and flip the switch and listen to the boom. OHHH and if you plug everything in and you hear the bass come pouring out with no sound going in use the adjustors on the converter to turn them down and be sure to do something quick cuz you can blow your subs if you dont.
here are the steps
1.) get your sub amp (and power cap if your using one) into the trunk that was a pain in the arse for me.
2.) set up the converter following the instructions (you can cut the grounds off if you dont need them i used double sided carpet tape and stuck it to the inside top of my trunk.
3.) now wire the remote to the front (and it is best to solder it) wrap with electrical tape use the same double sided tape to stick it to something.
4.) wire it back to the trunk.
5.) connect the remote to the amp power (make sure the switch is off at this point
6.) connect up to the batter red first black second as usual
7.) crank car flip switch adjust converter if needed.
8.) where this is no hum flip the switch off again (this is so you can see a difference)
9.) turn the radio on set it to a good song flip the switch and listen to your boom.
10.) adjust your amp and sub so your speakers are doing the treble and amp pushin out the bass. its easy and will sound great.
