my engine is knocking....

ok not my engine but there a dealer about an hour away from my house that sell nothing but imports like 3000GT VR4s, Supras, 300ZXs, MR-2s, and so on. they had a really nice white 96 that i want but they had sold it like yesterday. so i asked if he has more VR4s and he said he has a black 95 but the engine is knocking and he has a 97 coming in soon. then i asked him why was the engine knocking he said it is a common for mitsu engines to knock. then he said its actually then rods that are knocking. so my question is, is it ture that mitsu engines knock alot or is he just bs? and i'm guessing it is knocking because maybe the boost is turned up and would an upgraded fuel system fix this or would i need more info on the car's probelm so you guys can help me out in fixing this if i buy the car.

WOW WOW WOW.. knocking is not normal.. and if he is not talking about lifter tick (doesn't sound like knocking) then he is full of shit and you should kick his ass for being a POS.. more fuel will not fix a knocking rod.. a new engine will fix it..
