Does anyone have any ideas or how-to's on how to make a setup like this? I went to HIN in minneapolis this weekend and saw a setup like this that was really nice and i was wanting to do something like it myself. Thanks

-i guess you are going to have to click on the red x-box to view the pic, for some reason it didnt work.....

A lot of work and design time...

I am doing something kinda like this, but I will still have all my hatch space that I need... It won't be until after I actually get the Talon running though, but it's fully designed and halfway built... Fiberglass is fun...

I started working on the custom trunk for anyone who cares, its actually turning out to be a very fun project, if anyone wants to see it so far i have some pics, but yea it was relatively easy and you basically just have to be creative. Thinking about covering it in black suede.....

I put 1 12" audiobahn in a custom box, cut a piece of wood to fit the floor. Used a plasma cutter to cut out all the metal mounting shit for the spare tire and fiberglassed a box to fit that. Then covered it in swede. I will get a pic up tmrw. It looked good when I had the sub inverted but it didn't sound as good so I had to change it back around.

Here are a few pics. The holes next to the speaker were used to run the wire when I was inverted, I just haven't fixed them yet. To lazy to pull the sub back out. DONT hate on the bottle either, a friend gave it to me so I painted it and put it in there. I am going to be running an intercooler fogger soon so it will be used.

I see you rocking out the HCCA 225R. I got mad respect for the classic Orion stuff. I have a 250r and a 225r that both still play. Good stuff.

Oh and is that a Flame Q?

Yes it is. I love that amp, the only problem I have with it is that the crossover blew in it which isin't a big deal but the thing like to overheat. I run it at 1ohm and if I turn it all the way up it will just blow the fuse like its nothing. I have no clue whats wrong with it but it sounds so good I just keep it turned down a little. Still not bad for a 10yr old amp. That series is the best orion ever made IMO.

Yeah they do get extremly hot.

About the fuses blowing: back in the day when people used them for competition they would do away with the fuses. Just solder a wire in there or put a metal filler in it or something. I don't know, I haven't done it. The old school guys have told me about it.

I have thought about that but I haven't because I dont want to completely fry the amp. I might just put like a 40-50amp fuse in it and see what happens. I had to put fans on it to cool it down. It would get so hot it would burn you.

Please don't ever do this.

The fuse is there for a reason and it's to protect your Amp. If you solder a wire in instead of a fuse you are dropping a load of resistance out of that system. (not to mention a safety check) In turn that will increase current and can lead to not so good things.

I'm guessing you've never used a 225r. The 225r amps are notorious for blowing fuses. The power and ground wires are just too small, and they need more fuses.

Yea I didn't like the idea of not using one at all. I put a 40a in it and it seems to be better now. It also doesn't help that the amp is pretty much maxed out.
