My friend thinks BMW is low quality compared to Ford

i have a CPO 2003 BMW 325xi. for the first year, i had to get a few things fixed, nothing major. But today I told my friend Eric that I had things fixed in the beginning and he's like, "That's because your BMW is low quality." I told him it is high end, and he's like, "Doesn't matter if it's high end, it can still be low quality." he has a 2000 Ford Escort and a GEO Metro and it has far less electronics in it, naturally it has less things to be fixed. but it's a piece of shit. He got me really angry about this. I was fuming. I told him before to try buying a new car to take advantage of the warranty and avoid little fixings, and he's an idiot for not doing so. but the fumer was the diss on BMW.

next time i see him i will attack him.:evillol:

If by quality you mean reliablity, BMW is generally considered to be above average. It isn't up there with Lexus on reliablity, but it is pretty good and better then most.

If by quality you mean quality of materials, ride, engine, etc, then your friend is a moron.

Ford Escort... low budget, mass produced car that will rust quickly and the engine will rattle like hell in time.

BMW, Executive/salesman car, mass produced with quality in mind. Rusts less and engine built for reliability and logevity.

Take the interior panels off both cars and you will see the BMW has much thicker and more sound deadening than the Ford.

Don't let it get you down, I live round people in England who are proud to buy British but I know what I prefer. I've had Rovers but the BMW is smoother and queter than any Rover. Shut the door oon your BMW and the shut noise eeks quality, do it on the Ford or Rover and it is a definate slam and rattle noise.

I've just changed from owning a 1992 Celica GT4 Turbo to an E46 323 Ci Coupe and frankly not too impressed. The beemer seems to be plagued with problems(mainly the cooling issues) so Ive had to buy another H reg Celica which is pure joy to drive whilst the BMW is getting Fixed!

I love BMW cars, I just can't afford to buy one. So i'll take a job there any day. Every car has their problems and well people just have to come to the realization that a car is built, and just like everything else, it will most likely break. Sometimes it just happens, I've seen the worst and have had conversations with people who've had the worst.
