hi, some of you might remeber me, I blew my turbo then put on the 16g.
everything is running good with the turbo. but I am installing a rear differential
on talon then my clutch is starting to slip so I will need to do that and my CEL light is on and the coed reads that it is ignition system or misfire.
I want to know if anyone has had that coed before and what they did to solve the problem? but I know this is what owning a car is all about. oh by the way the reason that I think it is the rear diff is because I hear a clicking sound and a loud hum coming from the back of the car. it is louder around 60 mph.
any suggestions are welcome.
thanks

humm it could be a wheel bearing, but wouldn't that just be a hum and no clicking? off hand I cant remember the coed number I will check and get back to you on that. if it is the wheel bearing is that a hard fix?

I really don't know anything about the rear ends in these AWD cars, because I've never fooled with them. But my home boy's Z-71 truck....the rear end was roaring bad...when he would pass my house cruising I could hear it roaring. Turned out to be the pinion bearing.

Dude! I just got a great idea! Why dont we make some subforums for different car related questions to better organize our forum! Oh wait...

I would say bearing before I said differential. Have you had anyone sit in the back seat and see if they can hear wether the sound is from the left or right side, or if it's coming from the middle?

sorry next time I will post in the sub forum.
I will have to have someone sit in the back today at work and see if they can tell witch side it is coming from. half-shaft?
one reason why I think it would be the rear diff is because it leaks oil, so I thought that mabe it has been running a little dry. i put more oil in it and it took a lot. I will have to start looking into the wheel bearing. thanks guys
and sorry again.
