I finally did it

I finally got a race in my eclipse. My buddys 98 camaro with a LS2 engine. The one from the corvettes.

Anyway we pulled up to the stoplight, and I completely fucked up the launch so he got me by about 1.5 car lengths. Once I got going, I wasn't starting to pull on him, but he wasn't gaining on me at all. It was pretty much dead even.

So we turn around and race again from a stop (no light this time, so we did the horn thing) I launched it at 5k this time, and instantly i had 1.5 car lengths. He said he was having traction problems till around 50 mph. But once he hooked, he said that he wasn't gaining any ground. By around 115 he said that he started reeling me in, but by 120 I let off, so that was the end of the race. So really under 100 mph without my awd launch and without his traction problems, I'd have to say we're both near the same.

I thought I was going to lose terribly, only because I'd never raced, so I had nothing to compare my car to. I really didn't think the GSX would hold its own against a corvette engine. Tonight really boosted my confidence with the car. I completely underestimated it before. I just need to get off my ass and get a clutch for that thing.

Oh I hear you. I'm not a very big fan of street racing, but this was on the highway late at night with no traffic on the road. Speed limit was 65, so yeah we were breaking the law, but not putting anybody in danger. Next time we go will be at the track though. He has stuff he wants to do to his car, and I have a few more plans for the eclipse, so we will see what happens.

Nice Kill. Camaro's with the LS1 motor are tough enough, but with an LS2 all the more power to you.
