I need to replace the heater core in my 94 chevy silverado and was wondering what the process for that will be? I would also like to know the level of difficulty this will be so i know about how long it will take. Any response is greatly appriciated. Thanks, phil

I have done twice on my 93. Two hoses on the engine side of the firewall need to be removed. 6 or 7 small bolts under the passenger side under the dash and it will come out. It is not hard to do but akward to get up under the dash. Buy a repair manual from the part stores and you will have no problem.

I have a '94, and have also replaced my twice. I have the hanes repair manual and they say to pull the entire heater box, I found that you can pull just the heater core cover, the back bolt sucks to get out (I didn't put it back in). Once you get the cover loose you will have to work it out, make sure that it is warm and not cold to keep from breaking it. Drain the cooling system, remove the heater hoses, remove the clamp bolt holding the core in and then pull the core. As for time, the 1st time it took me about 1.5 hours, the second about 45 min. Hope this helps.
