Today I finished the rebuild from the accident. The time I wanted to complete her was 10/1, and I finished early. She came back from the shop this week getting the front radiator support installed and I've been hauling ass ever since to get her all together. Firstly the pics.

Ups:
-I actually drove her out from the garage today and let her run for about 20 minutes working in the oil and coolant. Even took her out tonight too on the expressway and all. Running like a charm.
-Finished a head of time.
-Used all new nuts and bolts in the whole front end. The old ones rusty and everything else so bad the heads would break off, leaving the rest stuck in the thread.

Still Needed:
-Hood doesn't sit quite perfect with the passenger-side fender and bumper. Just have some adjustments to make
-Installed a fuel pressure gauge and leaked a couple times today when was putting it all together. Worked fine when idling in my driveway, I take out and it starts leaking again. Not bad, but it shouldn't be doing that. I'm going to break down and get stainless steel lines from the filter to the rail and get everything done right. Bought everything from Menards... which may be the problem.
-Forgot to align headlights before I went out tonight :screwy:
-Burned Passenger-side bumper marker out.
-Still have to install oil-pressure sender unit and EGT probe
-Clear-coat hood
-Paint
-Just some minor touch-ups, nuts and bolts here and there
-Didn't have a chance to let her rip because of the gas leak

All in all, I'm pretty happy. She's going back in the garage (usually sits there during the week while I work) which gives me time to make the fuel line and fittings and do the minor stuff. I'll be seeing a painter this week and getting an estimate also. YAY! I missed her so much.

Sweet man! I know how it feels to finally get your ride back together after being tore apart. Did you put the hood pins on or did the shop do that? Just wondering because when I get a hood I'm gonna get pins. What brand pin kit is that and where did you get it. I'm debating on what style to go with. I like the old schoolies (like u got) but I also like the red annodized new school pull-lock style, not sure what u call it but u know.

BTW: You need some rims...those are do-do. What happened to the enkei's?

Look good, if the hood still doest not look right, bring it back to the shop. Good luck in the future man.

The only thing the shop did was install the front frame, paint it, and pound out the passenger fender. I did the rest, hood pins and all.

I bought them off ebay actually. Not too bad. It came with the locking tops like shown and the pull off ones. Don't like the pull off because they stick up weird.

I know I need rims. Was going to get them in fall here, but accident happened. Next year I 'll get some. Enkeis are just too big. They're for sale.

And like I said, I still have work to do to get everything to fit perfectly.

David, what do you mean you need to align the headlights? Like one of the bulbs is pointed wrong?

Looks good though. Do you plan on doing other body paint besides the bumper?

:1: for new wheels.

You have to align the headlights to direct the light at a certain point. So they are pointed evenly and not up in everyones face.

How exactly do you do that? I did a quick search but didn't find anything at all really. I've replaced my headlights a few times and one of them is a bit off and points down a little...

Your suppose to mark a wall and they are suppose to point a certain amount off the ground. I just pulled up infront of a wall and adjusted them evenly. Then tested them out and adjusted them accordingly.

There's also little built-in levelers in the headlights, where the bubble is supposed to be centered. You just turn the little knobs until it's even. I also then go and do the wall trick.

As for the paint, I may be doing the whole car. Estimate this week (hopefully). Like I said, I have to get everything situated better like the hood to fit right, and fix that fuel line first. Most important.

Awesome guys, thanks.

I'm also really interested in what type of an estimate you get for the paint. Plans are to get mine painted next summer...and I want to compare your estimate with some of them that I can get around here.

My buddy is getting me the number for a guy who apparently had a paint shop back in the days, but closed to down or retired or something. He still has everything in his garage at home and paints cars there for cheap. Buddy said around $1500 or so for full body. We'll see. He did my buddy's moms car and it turned out really good. Professionally looking. I want to get like a mirror black. Something I can see myself in all day and night.

That hood looks like it's permanently tweaked. I don't think you'll ever get it straight, unless the little bumpers above the headlights are that far out of wack, but I still don't think it would make it that bad.

Honestly I think it's the hood pins, like it may be pushing it up a little. Without them, the hood pop works fine, so it must be fitting better. I'll get it all fixed this week.

See I don't know anyone that knows anyone in a Maco. If I knew of someone that knew the owner or something I may consider it because they're not going to screw me, but I don't want to take my chances. I'll probably get my quote this weekend.

One of the teachers in my auto body class use to work at macco and they would tell him to mess up on purpose if the customer bought a cheap paint job. They would want him to run the paint and make it look like shit. I have also seen cars were they painted right over the emblems and I heard about one that even had bird shit under the paint. Not real sure about that one though.

My dad tells me the same thing about bird shit. He knew a guy apparently whom that happened to.

They don't pull dents for free man. You are gonna pay $1,000+ for a decent paint job with all the fixins.

Man to bad you guys don't live down here near the border! I have taken more than a few cars down to Tijuana to have work done to them and they always do an absolutely fantastic job for about 1/3 of the price.
