I have a 2005 Trailblazer My master switch will not lower my other windows but each individual switch lowers each of the windows. Im thinking I need a new master switch. The dealer wants $202.00 for a new switch but it needs to be reprogrammed does any body have a clue on how to do this ?? I dont feel like spending 2hrs of labor for somthing that take 2 minutes to do

First I would make sure the switch is bad or has been tested good.
I may be missing something but I do not know why just a switch replace would call for a pc reprogram.

I would get a all data sub and study up on it and check TSB and go threw the repair procedure on it.

On the price of switch check around someplaces you can by them cheaper or get a dealer discount.

There is several on line gm parts links.
GM parts direct and others.

Your right let me back up a minute. All of the windows go up & down with their own individual switch. When it comes down to using the master switch none of the windows will go up or down including the drivers window. When I went to the dealer they told me " That because of the modules in the switch assembly I would have to get the switch programmed to match the vin number of the vehicle" I had the switch in my hands and told the guy he was nuts. But after checking with other dealers they all said they same thing so I dont know who to believe. Any way all my fuses are good thats what leads me to believe that the switch is bad.

The dealer should know on the switch.
But I would get a all data sub or a factory service manual to be sure about it.

As to the switch being bad I would test it out before replacing.

The first test would be to test wiring test to the window motors.
Get the window motor wiring diagram and.
Unless they have throwed a mickie in the system withd the computer module control.
Un plug the master switch.
Find the wires to the window motor and see if you can jump them and get the window motor to work.
Maxwedge may have some info on it.
I think he has a Trailblazer.
Good luck

The switch you have IS actually more than just a switch. It communicates on the class 2 datalink in your vehicle. Rather than wiring every single window to the driver switch, it simply sends out a message on the datalink and the window that you're opening will receive that message and open. You may want to have it diagnosed. Sometimes cycling power to it can free up a "logic lockup" that may have disabled the switch, or driver's door module, as it is called. There are also software updates out there for the door modules that may correct "software anomalies" as GM likes to call them. It does require diagnosis with the Tech 2 scan tool though.

Diagnosis of these modules requires a Tech 2 scan tool, or a scan tool capable of communicating with body control systems. And yes, the driver's door module does need to be programmed to configure specific options to your vehicle and to make sure that it is operating on the latest software. If the dealer replaces the switch and doesn't program it, you may have other electrical options related to the switch that don't operate at all or don't operate correctly. GM has definitely made it more complicated than just replacing a switch.

I left my window down one night it started raining and everything got wet. The next day, I went to put the window up and it started to go up and then stopped. I tried the other window buttons and nothing would work, I checked the fuse for the drivers door mudule(#10 on 2003 under rear seat) and it was blown, I replaced it and it started working again then stopped. Checked the fuse again and it was blown again...this time I let the door dry out in the garage and then repleced the fuse and since then everything has been fine.

Might want to check the #10 fuse in the rear underseat fuse box, it could be the issue.

Does anyone have procedure to reprogram the master switch

Check with your dealer.
If it does need reprogramed your dealer will have the Tech scanner and the reprograming from GM to do it.
