I have a 2001 GMC 2500 HD pickup with a 6Liter engine. The service engine soon light is on and I'm getting a code P0332. This code says knock sensor 2 circuit low input bank 2. I'd like to try to fix this myself. Can someone tell me where the sensor is and what I can do to repair the problem. I would also need to know how to clear the code so the service engine soon light will stay off. Thank you

I have a '98 Sierra w/5.0l and the sensors are located below the headers on the block just above the oil pan parting line. To resolve the problem specifically you'll probably need to get a copy of the factory service manual. I'm assuming you got the code read at a local autoparts store. To reset the code you'll need a code reader with reset/erase capabilities or I believe you can disconnect the battery and let it sit overnight.

The '98 5.0 and an '01 6.0 liter engine are two completely different engine families. The 6.0 has two knock sensors located underneath the black plastic intake manifold. The replacement of the knock sensors requires removal of the intake manifold. GM has a service bulletin out regarding your exact problem: Bulletin #02-06-04-023A. What you'll find if you do it yourself is the rear knock sensor is excessively corroded. GM's fix is to replace the sensor (i recommend both if you're going that far/or at least examining the front sensor) and then use silicone to build a dam around the front of the connector to prevent water from draining down into the knock sensor cavity in the future.
The best way to clear a code after you've repaired the problem is to use an OBD II scan tool.
