Brakes Squeal Just Before Stop

I have a very annoying problem in which my brakes squeal loudly just before coming to a stop, usually around 3 mph. The brakes were just recently replaced. I believe that the noise is coming from the drum brakes for the back wheels. The inside of the wheel itself is not damaged. The brakes make no noise at all during more firm braking and seem to have excellent performance. These are aftermarket brakes by the way.
Does anyone know of a possible solution to this problem?

Don`t ask me why this worked for me .....LOL. What I did on an intrepid I had was to file the leading edge of the brake shoe lining so that it was tapered and thus when brakes were applied and contact with drum was made the squeal was gone . Sounds goofy but it worked for me

How long have you been driving it around like that without noise?

I usually do this to pads before I put them on if they don't come with a chamferred edge.
It's important to understand that a squeak does not indicate a problem. If you know the shoes aren't worn out, it's only an annoyance. That being said, if you paid a shop to do the work you have a legitimate gripe. They should help you out.

How long have you been driving it around like that without noise? I haven`t had the car for over a year now . I think it was around ` 01 when I did this and it never did again . probably did for month or so before I got wise to this "old Timer " trick
