I replaced my fuel pump and fuel pump relay on my 95 Crown Vic, it ran for about 5 minutes then shut down. I tried to start it and it just turned over, I hear the fuel pump when I turn the key to on. I am wondering if it is the crank sensor? any help would be great.

What have you checked besides hearing the pump run? Have you checkes to see if the injectors are pulsing, spark through the plugs? Let us know what you are missing first. If there is no spark at all, than it may be crank sensor. But guessing is not the way to repair. This might sound dumb, but check all the fuses. Also Ford is bad about wires breaking or corroding under the battery tray up under the bumper.

I have spark, fuses are good, changed the relay. When it first quit it was pulsing when I was driving, when I got to about 30 it quit. I now try to turn it over and no fuel pump hum, Is something blowing the relay?
thanks for the advice.

Look at the wiring loom under the right front bumper cover. Look for a brown wire or a green with light blue or red tracers on them. If these are broken the car will not start.

Check all of your electrical connections and the harnesses. Could be that one of your connectons are not tight. Visually inspect and go back through the steps you installed the relay and pump.

Thanks for the help, I still do not hear the fuel pump priming. I will trace the wiring from the fuel pump tomorrow and the wire loom under the front bumper to see if it is a connection. I know that after I changed the pump it ran for awhile then I took it for a drive and it stopped about two blocks from my house and wouldn't start again. I thank you guys for suggestions and with your help I will get it going. This is a good place to find help from people who take the time to give their suggestions. I will post tomorrow with my next issue or I will be driving, I will let all know what happens.
