Window problems

We just bought our CRX Si a month or so ago. The driver side window has never worked. The previous owners broke one of the plastic pieces attached to the glass itself, and their fix was to silicone on another plastic piece and hope it got better. It didn't.

We bought another window and installed it. It now rolls up, with help. The front edge of the glass tilts down so it doesn't follow its track. If I pull up on the front part of the glass it works fine.

Does anyone know what part of the door is messed up to make the front want to tilt down? Is it the X, which I lubed in an attempt to make it work correctly? Or is it the rotating part directly attached to the handle?

I ran a search, but in the only related threads I could find, most people with this problem just left the window closed.... Not ideal when you have no a/c.

Thanks for your help,
Thrill

it would have to be something wrong with the rails (the X) where did you get the replacement glass from..my driver window got busted and ive tried a couple different windows from other years and hatches, but the plastic tabs should be level when installed..idk..take a few pictures for us..

it's the window regulator...."the rotating part directly attached to the handle"

there is a possiblity it went bad at the "x" but it doesn't exactly matter as both parts are the same piece.

you can get one from your junkyard for around $30-ish

Thanks Lady and foosh, I'll head back to the junkyard to pick up that piece as well. When we got the window the rest was still attached to the car, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I could take some pictures later, I'm at work at the moment. From the outside it's noticable on the edge nearest the back of the car. If you raise the window with the handle, without any other help, it leans towards the front of the car, and makes a gap at the back side.

Thanks again for your help. It will probably be next week before I can get to it though. My brother's wedding is this weekend, and all the family we be in town. :banghead:
