Hey I'm new to this as you can see and I recently purchased a 2004 ford taurus SE and everything was going well until I had to brake really hard 1 day. Then there on after everytime I brake/accelerate its a cracking sound, and I don't have a clue what it is I'm thinking something with the CV. Also the steering wheel shakes rapidly when braking around 40-45. I would really appeciate ya'll help:p You can contact me at [email protected] and once again I would really appreciate ya'll Help and Thank you.

Look for warped rotors.

The cracking sound could very well be a CV joint going on you. A way for you to check is to check the rubber boots on the inner and outer joints of the drive shafts. As to the pulsating, like Taillight said, check for warped rotors. The Taurus is famous for its OEM rotors warping after a period of time. I have had to replace all four of mine on my 98 Taurus. I got replacement rotors at Advance Auto parts for about $25 a piece. They are fairly easy to change out. If you end up replacing your rotors, I would suggest that while you have the calipers apart, change out the pads as well. Good luck.
