im thinkin about buying a mustang cobra. there is a 1996 cobra listed for 11,900. it has 41,000 miles on it and it was never driven in snow or rain. fisrt of all is this a good deal? and how is the car in general? like realiability, is the suspension different than the normal gt? what else is defferent than the gt?
thanks

I really am not an expert to answer questions about suspensions, but will answer a few observations about your other questions.

Your looking at a vehicle going on 12 years old with only 41K, its possible yes, and getting full history to prove the fact would be on my mind.

$ 11,900 for a vehicle that is worth to a dealer 2 to 3 grand is heavy coin and I dont care if its ever had a snowflake hit it.

Have you got a link where this vehicle can be seen ? before I make more comments

$11,900 is higher than NADA high retail value even with the low mileage added in:http://www.nadaguides.com/usedcars.aspx?LI=1-21-1-5013-0-0-0&l=1&w=21&p=1&f=5014&y=1996&m=1065&d=469&c=15&mi=41000&vi=5889&z=13209&da=-1&nx=1

You'd have to list many more details of the car and/or post a link to it if it is online to get a good answer. He/she/the dealer is selling it for full retail so, most likely, no it isn't a good deal unless it is in tip-top, perfect, spotless, trouble-free condition.

That's what I figured. A private owner who kept it garaged and drove it once in a while (i.e., not a DD) maybe took it to a Mustang show, kept it original, and probably knows how to properly care for this car maintenence-wise. I can see how he is selling it for full price so its up to you. I'd pay what the full retail is according to KBB or whatever and offer that, sounds like he is selling it for more than that. If he takes it, cool. He could very well sell that car for that price though. I wouldn't call it a "deal" exactly, but its highly likely to be in terrific condition to justify the price so you aren't getting completely screwed either.

Thanks for providing the link, nice car, run a carfax for history and if all checks out it"s a nice investment, price sometime is not the final answer, what makes you happy is what counts.

We in this forum all agree the price is to high, but then again this looks like more than the average investment , I say go for it, and if you get to enjoy the car beyond 4 years, hopefully much much longer, your investment has been covered.

PS... Did you check Insurance rates ?????????????????????? Its considered a muscle car.
