Hey, can anybody give me a link to a site that has detailed instructions on taking the injectors out?..
I have a Cyl 1 Misfire coming up, and I'm pretty sure its the injector, so im gonna take 1 and 3 out and swap them, see if the misfire moves over to 3, if it does, ill know its a bad injector.. i think. haha. anyways, '97 gtp. i know the plugs and wires and whatnot are good, so fairly sure its the injector. Thanks a bunch.

It's not a good idea to remove injectors without replacing the o-rings. If the old o-rings are hardend from age, they can leak and pose a fire hazard.

It would help to know what year and model you have, as well as the engine size, 3.1 or 3.8. I did the injectors on my 98 GP 3.1, not too bad. I was able to find 6 new injectors from an oline store from Florida for $150 along with the new o-rings. Took about 3 hours to do the entire job. If you're having a misfire in one injector and you have a lot of miles on them, may not hurt to replace all 6 injectors. Good luck.

He has a '97 GTP which obviously has the L67 (supercharged) version of the SII 3800.
I've got a tech procedure someplace if I can find it.

thanks bn, it'd be great if you could find that.. id just like to get a general idea of how it's supposed to go before i start taking it apart.. i ordered an injector, im just gonna go ahead and replace it rather than dealing with switching them.

Actually not that difficult. Best thing to do is remove the complete fuel rail assembly with all injectors intact. One good reason is you should replace all fuel injector upper and lower o-ring seals not just the one suspected since it all has to be disassembled in the first place.
I recall there are at least 4 bolts holding the fuel rail to the supercharger and a center bolt. Remove those and pull up on the rail. They should pop out of the cylinder head since you have a L67 GTP. You can leave the fuel pressure and return line on the rail but relieve fuel pressure before starting disassembly. Be sure to disconnect the battery negative cable before starting this job. And get any spark plug wires, sensors or any electrical wiring harnesses out of the way.
To relieve fuel pressure you can pull the fuel pump fuse and let the engine die out. Then remove the gas cap.
Next remove the clips from the electrical connector on each injector and remove electrical connector. The injector is held to the fuel rail by a clip. Remove clip and pull the injector off.
Best thing to do is be patient and take your time. Final note: try to stay with the OEM GM 33/36 pound fuel injectors. ZZPerformance used to carry these at a great price. Good luck!
